Paul Marchegiani | Vox Vera, LLC

I'm a Los Angeles-based performance coach, entertainment lawyer, law school lecturer, and Founder/CEO of Vox Vera, LLC, a consulting firm that helps leaders, advocates, artists, and executives connect with others and speak with presence. Prior to launching Vox Vera, I worked for over 15 years as a Hollywood dealmaker at Warner Bros., NBCUniversal, Miramax, and Amazon Studios, leading business & legal affairs teams, advising top producers, showrunners, and studio heads, and negotiating rights and talent deals for film and television stars, writers, directors, and producers. I began my legal career as a litigator at Orrick and Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco after receiving a JD from UC Berkeley and a BA (History) and BMus (Voice & Opera) from Northwestern University.

In addition to my business and legal experience, I'm also an experienced stage performer with credits ranging from classical (including the LA Opera, SF Symphony Chorus, and Chicago Symphony Chorus), to jazz, theatre, and improvisation (with over fifteen years of combined study with Groundlings, UCB, Impro Theatre, and Studio ACT). I've studied acting at Northwestern, Juilliard's Summer Drama Intensive, and ACT, and am the only U.S. lawyer and senior business executive to hold a teaching certification from the world-renowned voice, presence, and Shakespeare coach Patsy Rodenburg.

To bring all of these skills and interests together, in addition to my coaching business, I develop and teach public speaking and communication skills classes for top law schools, including Berkeley Law and The University of Chicago Law School, and will teach a course on "Public Speaking for Lawyers" as a Lecturer at Stanford Law School September 2024-December 2025.
